The Great Outdoors
Edward Abbey said, "May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds."My mom sent me this quote. I went on another hike this weekend. Three hikes in 8 days! I could definitely get used to this (although my body is kind of wondering what's going on). Sunday, three girlfriends and I hiked about 9 miles round trip, saw some spectacular views, including a couple of lakes (well, they're more like ponds, but they call them lakes here in Colorado), and one cool waterfall. I'm continually amazed at God's creativity and attention to detail.
I'm pretty thankful to get this chance to experience the great outdoors in one beautiful state. I've being ever reminded of the goodness of God (and getting in some nice exercise along the way).
Next weekend, we're thinking of going to St. Mary's Alice. It won't be such a strenuous hike, but beautiful, from what I've seen and what I'm told.
The next weekend is a camping trip to Maroon Bells near Aspen, Colorado.
Please know that I'm still me, just exploring the place I'm in at the time. To reassure you that I'm continuing to enjoy things I always have, I went to tea with EJ and Christina Saturday at this great contemporary tea house in downtown Denver. It was quite fun. The homemade scones were to die for!
